Project Management
AI Scientist includes built-in project management tools designed for research workflows. These help you organize experiments, track progress across the Design-Build-Test-Learn cycle, and maintain visibility into your project timeline.
Project Creation & Organization
Section titled “Project Creation & Organization”Create projects to group related conversations, sequences, and documents together. Within each project you can:
- Set milestones to mark key deliverables (e.g., “Complete primer design”, “Verify assembly by sequencing”)
- Add checkpoints to track incremental progress within each milestone
- Organize work by experimental phase, sub-project, or team member
Projects persist across sessions, so your organizational structure is always available when you return.
Gantt Charts
Section titled “Gantt Charts”AI Scientist generates interactive Gantt charts that visualize your project timeline:
- Dependency support — define task dependencies so downstream tasks automatically adjust when upstream tasks shift
- Batch creation — generate multiple tasks at once from a project outline
- Template reuse — save common project structures (e.g., a standard cloning workflow) as templates and reapply them to new projects
- Interactive editing — drag to adjust durations and dependencies directly on the chart
Project Dashboard
Section titled “Project Dashboard”The project dashboard provides a high-level overview of your research progress:
- Progress indicators — see at a glance which milestones are on track, at risk, or completed
- Key metrics — track metrics relevant to your project (number of constructs designed, primers ordered, sequences verified)
- Activity timeline — review recent actions and decisions across all project conversations
